Hey there. Hello. Lily here.
New year, new me indeed, because hey: I'm back after my maternity leave with baby Toots! Hello. Hey. I've missed you.
... And that seamlessly brings me to the subject of this note. Because being "back at work" when you have - on top of your toddler - an extra baby, moved to an unfinished house with all your belongings a month ago, your kids just started school and daycare, moving boxes and packed lunches are driving you crazy, and the routines you hope to have established are still non-existent... Clearly, that's no small feat 🙃
It's in this context that I tell you: having a freezer full of super easy, tasty Stash meals here (for now still in our living room) at home, it's really a lifesaver. Honestly, if I may say so myself: how great is our concept, how delicious is our food!? I mean it! We've avoided so much hunger and arguments here, just by having that full freezer! (*)
The ultimate chaos of our lives these days has reminded me once again: having a well-stocked freezer full of warming winter dishes and little treats at home, that's one of the few routines I can maintain without any problems.
From an Oven Dish with our toddler (loves it), to a stolen dinner date with Monne from our Red Wine Ragout with our delicious parsnip, potato, and confit garlic puree (that combination of ragout and puree! HEAVEN!!), to the small joy of - after folding seven baskets of laundry, spreading sandwiches, and peeling fruits - being able to crash on the sofa for half an hour with a glass of wine and a plate full of scorching hot, deliciously soldered ovenhapjes and actually enjoy our new house for a moment: these stress-free meals are the glue that's holding things together here right now.
Kind of special, isn't it?
Love,
Lily
